Mohammed the Teddy Bear

If the teacher jailed over the name of a teddy bear issue wasn’t so deadly serious, I’d have found it hilarious.

The sheer nonsense of her being charged in the first place, followed by the mob bussed in to wave machetes and call for her execution, is so farcical that it makes the mocking of religious stupidity in Monty Python and the Holy Grail seem very tame by comparison. But you might like to check out the “We’ve found a witch, may we burn her?” scene below, which pretty much sums up the ‘logic’ of this mob.

It’s also utterly self-defeating. Inevitably, there are teddy bears called Mohammed being sold on eBay now. This one is currently going for $3,050 at the time of writing, all proceeds going to charity.

What is it about the ‘Religion of Peace’ that these incidents - and the one in which a rape victim in Saudi Arabia was sentenced to 200 lashes - keep happening?I know there are plenty of Muslims out there who are decent individuals who just want to get on with their lives like everyone else. I’d be glad to hear from some of you.

How do you feel about these medieval knobheads doing such stupid things in the name of your religion?

Someone far more intelligent than I once said,

religious conflict is like two children fighting over who has the best imaginary friend.

Ok.. So if I bought a teddy, called it Mohammed, and sold it on Ebay for a lot of money… do you think I’ll make a prophet?

    Looks around nervously…..

I’ve heard it before, Monkey, but it’s a good un.
Have really got very lazy on here, haven’t I? Partly I can never make up my mind whether to just have the odd rant about my incredibly interesting life or stick to topical stuff.

Am going to try and merge the blog and forum together shortly though.
